Chef Jorge Baumhauer da Silva is from the Amazonian region of Brazil and has over 25 years of cooking experience, out of these 16 are in the UK.
He has always been involved in busy and creative kitchens, inspiring and forging teams to have free minds, experimenting with new dishes in the vibrating London food scene.
His South American roots lie close to his heart and he loves sharing this through his culinary creations. He has been part of the creative teams in restaurants like; Rocket, Aubaine, Ceviche and Andina all pioneering flavours and exciting cuisine trends in London.
At present Jorge is the head chef for the Embassy of Brazil in London, as well as the creator and head chef for Passports & Spices – Supper Clubs & Private Dining. Together with his team of chefs, he creates unique culinary events; pop-up dinners, gourmet product launches, food fairs. Jorge also offers restaurant consultancies and food styling for media events or photo shoots.
Throughout the year Jorge also lectures cooking master classes at Leith’s School of Food and Wine in west London focussing on Peruvian and Brazilian cuisine.
